Module 2 – GENERAL CONCEPTS OF Occupational Health & Safety
This module will enable the participants to understand the general concepts of Occupational Safety and Health toward effective OSH implementation in the workplace and embrace the science of the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of hazards arising in or from the workplace that could impair the health and well-being of workers, taking into account the possible impact on the surrounding communities and the general environment.
Specific Learning Objectives:
At the end of this module, each participant will be able to:
1. Discuss what is Occupational Safety and its importance of having it in the workplace.
2. Define what a workplace accident is and what causes accidents;
3. Discuss the basic principles on how to prevent a workplace accident;
4. Differentiate unsafe working practices from unsafe working conditions;
5. Discuss the importance of reporting work-related accidents and illnesses; and
6. Discuss the Employees Compensation Program.

At the end of this module, there is a 25-item quiz that would serve as a review question in preparation for the FINAL POST TEST that would be administered after completing Module 1-6.
