Module 1 – Introduction to Occupational Safety & Health

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) deals with all aspects of health and safety in the workplace and has a strong focus on the primary prevention of hazards. Its goal is to prevent accidents and harm to people from work-related activities.

This module will provide the participant with a basic understanding and general overview of Occupational Safety and Health. More specifically, at the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the Occupational Safety and Health situation both in the local and international setting.
  2. Discuss the primary goal of OSH;
  3. Discuss the duties of employers under RA 11058;
  4. Discuss the duties and responsibilities of employees;
  5. Discuss the rights of workers under Do 198-18; and
  6. Discuss the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC) Program.

Each section contains learning materials such as videos and reading materials for self-interactive learning for better understanding. At the end of this module, there will be a 20-item quiz that would serve as a review question in preparation for the FINAL POST TEST that would be administered after completing the Modules 1-6.
